Sources

We work from primary sources wherever one exists, and we link to them so you can check for yourself. For Thailand that means the Immigration Bureau, the Thai e-Visa portal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Board of Investment for the LTR visa, and the Revenue Department for tax. For home-country matters it means GOV.UK and HMRC, the Social Security Administration, Medicare and the IRS, and the equivalent bodies elsewhere.

Forum posts, social media and other people’s blogs are not sources. They are sometimes useful for knowing what to go and check.

Date-stamping

• Every guide shows the date it was published and the date it was last updated.
• Visa route records carry their own review date, shown wherever they appear.
• Pages covering visas, tax, healthcare, insurance and legal matters carry a prominent notice that rules change.
• The site’s content was last reviewed on 1 August 2026.

Official immigration and government information

We never present a visa requirement as a settled permanent fact. Where a figure — a deposit amount, an income threshold, an insurance cover level — is likely to change, we describe what it is for and tell you to verify the current number, rather than printing a figure that will quietly go out of date.

Healthcare information

Healthcare content is written to explain how the system works, not to advise on treatment or recommend a specific policy. Cost figures are described as ranges for planning, never as quotes. We do not name and rank individual hospitals, because facilities, specialisms and insurer networks change.

Costs and estimates

Every monetary figure on this site is a researched planning estimate unless it is our own product price. Exchange rate conversions use a clearly labelled static sample table because no live rate feed is connected — a stale rate presented as live would be worse than none.

AI-assisted production

The Tim character and some imagery, audio and video on this site are AI-assisted or AI-generated. Written content is researched from the sources described above and reviewed by a human editor before publication. We do not publish first-person claims about lived experiences we cannot verify; where an article describes a scenario, it is framed as a researched preparation plan.

Corrections

1. Tell us what is wrong, ideally with a link to a better source.
2. We check it against the primary source.
3. If we were wrong, we fix it, update the last-updated date, and note the correction on the page where the change was material.
4. If we were right, we will tell you why, and take the point that the page was not clear enough.

• Guarantees about visa outcomes, tax positions or investment returns.
• Content that treats Thailand primarily as a nightlife destination. This site is about retirement.
